Future Apple Phones May Have Intel Cores Replacing Qualcomm

According to a Bloomberg report which says Qualcomm CEO revealed that some of their biggest customers are moving to the rival chip maker Intel after which Qualcomm shares plunged to almost 2.5% to 50.80 USD. The report also says that it is Apple who may leave Qualcomm’s chipsets to embrace Intel’s as the future Apple product’s core processing.

Qualcomm Inc. is still the leading Smaprtphone chipset maker which is already struggling much to survive after budget smartphone chip makers like: Mediatek and Spreadtrum has already replaced some of the market segment.

Qualcomm is not only in Chipset making but also manufactures LTE modems and WiFi chips for smartphones. Intel also has modems, chipsets but was majorly in PC market and was definitely trying to penetrate into the market with existing ASUS products but could never extended its potential. Recently there was a report that Intel is going to cut 12000 jobs by 2017 to restructure their business portfolio, to move majorly into Cloud and IoT business.

If Intel gets Apple as a customer then in noatime Intel could be the leading Smartphone chipset manufacturer in future because the trust flow that Intel will get after Apple’s deal.
